Who Are the Biggest Enterprise Technology Resellers?
CDW, World Wide Technology and SHI International sit at the top of the U.S. enterprise reseller market by current company-reported sales. Insight and Presidio form the next large group, but reporting methods differ.
The short answer is CDW, World Wide Technology and SHI International. Each reports annual sales at or above $16 billion. Insight Enterprises and Presidio are also national-scale providers with billions in company-reported sales.
That answers the size question. It does not settle the buying decision. These companies report sales in different ways, and a broad national provider can still be the wrong team for one unusual platform, location or support requirement.
The Enterprise Reseller Scale Board
Current company-reported scale ... figures are useful indicators, not a strict accounting rank
| Company | Reported scale | What that scale includes |
|---|---|---|
CDW |
$22.4 billion in 2025 net sales |
Corporate, small business, public sector, United Kingdom and Canadian operations. |
World Wide Technology |
$20 billion in annual sales |
Global technology sourcing, integration labs, consulting and deployment. |
SHI International |
$16 billion in annual sales |
Hardware, software, cloud and services for more than 17,000 organizations. |
Insight Enterprises |
$8.2 billion in 2025 net sales |
Products and services across North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. |
Presidio |
$7.5 billion in annual gross revenue |
Infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, services and enterprise AI work. |
CDW and Insight publish audited net sales. SHI, WWT and Presidio publish annual sales or gross revenue. Those measures are close enough to show market scale, but not identical enough to pretend the order is exact.
What Makes an Enterprise Technology Reseller Big?
Revenue is the easy number. The real difference is how much work the company can carry after the order is signed. A large enterprise reseller usually combines several capabilities.
- National or global purchasing coverage
- Deep relationships with major hardware and software vendors
- Engineering teams that can design and deploy complex systems
- Warehousing, configuration and logistics capacity
- Managed services and support after implementation
That reach matters when one project crosses offices, vendors and service teams. It matters less when the hard part is one specialized workload that a smaller team knows cold.
The Biggest Reseller Is Not the Biggest Distributor
A distributor and a reseller can both move a great deal of technology, but they do different jobs. Distributors such as TD SYNNEX and Ingram Micro supply products and cloud services to reseller channels. Enterprise resellers work directly with organizations to design, sell, deploy and support the finished solution.
That distinction is why a list of the largest IT distributors gives the wrong answer to this question. The distributor may power the transaction behind the scenes. The reseller and distributor roles are explained here, but the reseller is the company accountable to you for the solution in front of it.
Size Narrows the Field. Specialization Picks the Team.
A national footprint is useful when your project spans many locations. A large catalog helps when you need several vendors under one commercial agreement. Neither fact proves the assigned team has done your exact migration, recovery design or regulated deployment before.
Use size as the first filter. Then compare the people who will actually own the design, cutover and support handoff. BigTech Reseller maintains discovery profiles for CDW, SHI International, World Wide Technology and Presidio so you can compare that next layer.
How We Would Build the Shortlist
We would start with the vendors and products already in the environment. Then we would compare geographic coverage, engineering depth and support ownership. The final check would be a reference from a customer with the same kind of problem, not simply another large logo.
If you run a reseller and need the systems behind that work, the partner site has a separate guide to software for technology resellers.
