iDRAC
Also known as: Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller
Dell's out-of-band server management controller, built into every PowerEdge server, used to monitor, configure, and remotely control hardware independent of the operating system.
iDRAC (Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller) is the embedded management controller on every Dell PowerEdge server. It gives administrators remote console access, hardware health monitoring, firmware updates, and power control independent of whether the server's operating system is even running, which matters for remote data centers and lights-out operations. iDRAC is the layer Dell OpenManage builds on for fleet-wide automation, and it is one of the reasons Dell's management tooling is considered mature: ops teams evaluating Dell against Lenovo (XClarity) or HPE (iLO) are effectively comparing iDRAC's feature depth and Redfish/API support against those competing controllers.
